A New Way to Easily Achieve Your Goals

by Joe Vitale

I’ve learned at least two things about achieving goals: There is an easy way and a hard way.

The hard way is to work night and day, stay obsessed, rarely sleep, and never give up.

Since everyone talks about the hard way, I want to address the easy way. After all, why struggle if you don’t have to?

I’ve used the easy way to create bestselling books, lose 70 pounds in 8 months, find my ideal mate, get healthy, increase my wealth, and much more.

Obviously, it works.

Here’s the formula in brief:

1. Be grateful for what you already have.

2. Playfully declare what you would like to have with positive emotion, feeling as if it is already achieved.

3. Act on the nudges and opportunities that appear.

That’s it. In my latest book, “The Attractor Factor,” I explain a 5-step formula for getting what you want. It’s useful for those times when you don’t feel grateful, or can’t decide on what you want, or don’t understand the concept of letting go while taking inspired action. It’s also helpful when you have issues about money, or deserving, or feel in any way blocked from your goals.

But the bottom-line for me is this: Declare what you would like with no attachment and plenty of good feeling, feel grateful for what you already have, and act on what appears. The result will be the manifestation of a happy life.

Let’s explore this in depth.

1. Feel grateful now.

It doesn’t mater where you live or what you have.

If you’re reading this, you’re most likely living like a king or queen compared to people in third world countries. You may even be living better than kings or queens from history, as they often lived in cold, violent, frightful times. You’ve got it made.

2. Choose what you want without attachment, feeling as if it is already achieved.

There’s magic in saying “Id love to—(fill in the blank) but I won’t die if I don’t have it.” Since the world is simply energy taking form, when you declare you want something, you begin to attract it. But when you say you need something, the need pushes it away. You want to select your desire, and feel the joy of already having it, without feeling any desperation. Need will push it away; Desire will attract it. If you feel as if you *already* have it, then you *will* have it.

3. Act on your opportunities and intuitions.

You may get offers, calls, or who knows what. Act on them. You never know what will lead you to your goal. Your ego cannot see the big picture. Intuition and opportunities will come to you from the larger view, and your job is to act on them. As you do, you will be taken to your goal, even when it appears you are being blocked away. Trust is key.

Is that really all there is to it?

Again, the fuller procedure in “The Attractor Factor” will take care of any snags in the process, but the basic process is simple. Let’s walk through it:

1. Look around your room. What are you grateful for? Make a list. Get into the authentic feeling of true gratitude. In other words, be happy now. You don’t need a reason to be happy. But if you want one, find something, anything, to be grateful for right now. When you’re grateful, you’re in a mental place that will attract more to be grateful for.

2. Look around the playground of your mind. What would you like to have, do, or be? What would be fun? Write it down. As you do, feel what it would be like to already have it now. Pretend you won the lotto. What would you want for yourself or others? What would be fun? The key is playful non-attachment while experiencing its completion *now.*

3. Now pay attention. As you go about your life, listen to your hunches and act on them, and pay attention to the opportunities and act on them. You never know what will take you in the direction of your goal. Your job is to take inspired action. You may have some work to do in this step, but the work will be from your heart, and will take you in the direction of getting your goal.

Why not go through the steps right now?

Write them down, experience them, and then check back in a few weeks and see how they are doing. You may surprise yourself by how easily and quickly your goals are achieved.

If you find yourself doubting the process, thinking negative, or in any way not enjoying the simplicity of the easy way to attain your goals, then consider learning the 5 step process in “The Attractor Factor.”

Above all, have fun. Keep smiling. Be playful. Stay grateful. These are all elements of the new secret to manifesting your goals.

Remember the words of a famous song that also perfectly summaries this new way to achieve your goals: “Don’t worry. Be happy.”

Consciousness and Quantum Physics

by Amit Goswami

There was a revolution in physics at the beginning of the last century, consisting of the discovery of quantum physics. The message of quantum physics is this: the world is not made of matter neither is it determined entirely by material causation.

To be sure, the mathematics of quantum physics predicts objects and their movements not as determined events (as in Newtonian physics) but as possibilities.   And yet when we look at a quantum object, we don’t experience it as a bundle of possibilities, but as actual localized event much like a Newtonian particle.  How do the possibilities become actualities of experience simply by our looking at them?  This is the mysterious “observer effect.”

In quantum language, the model translates like this. Possible movements of elementary particle make up possible movements of atoms, make up possible movements of molecules, make up possible movements of cells, make up possible brain states, make up consciousness. Consciousness itself then is a conglomerate of possibilities, called a wave of possibility.

We Create Our Own Reality, But . . .

It was in the nineteen seventies that the physicist Fred Alan Wolf created the evocative phrase “we create our own reality.” The images the phrase evoked led, however, to many disappointments. Some people tried to manifest personal automobiles, others vegetable gardens in desert environments, and still others at least a parking space for their cars in busy downtown areas. Everybody was inspired by the theory of quantum creation, no doubt, but the results of their efforts were a mixed bag because they were unaware some subtleties.

We create our own reality, but there is a subtlety in consciousness. We do not create reality in our ordinary state of consciousness, but in a non-ordinary state of consciousness. This becomes clear when you ponder the paradox of Wigner’s friend. Eugene Wigner was the Nobel laureate physicist who first thought of the paradox.

Imagine that Wigner is approaching a quantum traffic light with two possibilities, red and green; at the same time his friend is approaching the same light from the perpendicular road. Being busy Americans, they both choose green. Unfortunately, their choices are contradictory; if both choices materialize at the same time, there would be pandemonium. Obviously, only one of their choices counts, but whose?

After many decades, three physicists at different places and times (Ludwig Bass in Australia, myself at Oregon, and Casey Blood at Rutgers, New Jersey), independently discovered the solution of the paradox: consciousness is one, nonlocal and cosmic, behind the two people’s local individuality. They both choose but from this nonordinary state of one consciousness (which I call the quantum self) where there is no local individuality or selfishness so contradiction can be avoided. This allows the common sense result that in many such crossings, Wigner and his friend each would get green fifty percent of the time; yet for any individual crossing, a creative opportunity for getting green is left open for each.

So the new paradigm of reality based on the rediscovery of consciousness within science is not only giving us back our free will, but also is identifying the source of that free will as the spirit within us, the oneness that spiritual and healing traditions have always propounded. The new paradigm is showing us great promise for integrating science and spirit. It is also promising a breakthrough integral approach to medicine that integrates conventional and alternative medicine. Read my book,  The Quantum Doctor, for the latest development on this.

Marci Shimoff on Happiness: Excerpt from Interview for the Documentary Beyond Belief

by Marci Shimoff:  excerpt from the interview for the self-empowerment documentary Beyond Belief

Many people think that the law of attraction is going to get them everything they want in their life and then they’ll be happy.  It’s really the other way around.  When we’re happy our energetic vibration is higher, and we are able to draw in more of what we want in our life.  So really happiness I believe is the ultimate key to having the law of attraction working most effectively in your life to bring you what it is you want.

It’s very clear that trying to be happy from the outside in, from chasing after all of the things that you think will make you happy, is ultimately futile.  You may get a lot of the goodies in life, but ultimately they will not last.  The only way that you can have lasting, deep and true happiness, is to develop an inner state of peace and well being. It’s what I call being happy for no reason, happy from the inside out.  When you have this deep inner state of well being, remarkable things happen in your life.  Because its not that you’re coming at them from a level of need.  They are manifesting because you are already living in a state of joy, and from that joy you are drawing phenomenal miracles in life.

People are always wondering, what is it I can do to be happier, and I’ve found the only difference between happy people and everybody else, is that happy people have different habits. I’ve actually distilled them down to 21 core happiness habits that anyone can practice to raise what’s called your happiness set point, to raise your ongoing level of happiness, I’ll give you one of them right now.  It’s a simple technique and its called wishing other people well.

I interviewed a woman named CJ, and CJ had been very depressed.  She had lupus, which is an auto-immune disorder.  She had it for 15 years.  She was in a wheelchair.  She was very miserable, she was overweight, and she heard about this simple practice, of wishing other people well.  What she would do everyday, she would spend a few minutes, sending other people wishes of well being, happiness, joy, health to everybody around her.  She would actually do this throughout her day to her family members, coworkers, her friends, even strangers on the freeway that she would pass by.

A year after doing this I can’t tell you what happened to the people she sent wishes to, but I can tell you what happened to her.  Her happiness level soared, she’s out of the wheelchair, exercising 3 times a week.  The doctor said it was a medical miracle, and all she did was silently in her heart send a wish of happiness, peace and well being to other people.  The wish simply went like this, “may you be safe, may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you live with ease.”

That is something so simple that anyone can do it throughout the day, doesn’t even take any extra time, but the effects in your life can be dramatic.  And imagine also the effects that we’d have in the world.

I once heard someone say that their entire life changed when they shifted from the question, “What is it that I want in life?” to the question, “What does life want from me?” Now that’s a very simple difference in a question, but an entire paradigm shift.

When we are looking for what does life want from me, what am I really here for, and we move from that energy, then life lines up in magical ways.  We end up moving in ways where we are led to where we are supposed to be next.  We are open to the amazing possibilities that are out there.  Rather than coming from the angle, What do I want?, instead opening up to the angle of, What does life want from me?

One of the oldest studies on happiness started in the 1920s and it showed that when people give, they come from a place of giving, their happiness level is raised.  In fact they researched people who were in high school in the 1920s and those people in high school who were the most generous and giving of their time, of their energy, 50 years later ended up being the happiest people.

When we come to life with the question “What am I here to give, what can I give today?” life becomes magical, we become happier, and we serve so much more. Now I want to be clear that this isn’t about over-giving.  This isn’t about being a martyr.  This isn’t about being a people pleaser.  It’s about coming from a place of really feeling, what is my gift here on this planet and how can I most give that gift in everyday, in every moment? How can I serve?

One of the biggest things I noticed in interviewing people who had unconditional happiness, is that they all shared one key belief, and that belief is that the universe is out to support them.

One of the most important things that people can have in life to support their life is a belief that this is a friendly universe. Einstein actually said that the most important question you can ask yourself is,  “Is this a friendly universe, is this a benevolent universe, is the universe out to support you?”

What I found is that people who were able to answer unconditionally yes, the universe is out to support me, are those who are the happiest.  When you believe that the universe is out to support you, it doesn’t mean that things will always go your way, bad things can happen.  But you will always end up asking the question, rather than why did this horrible thing happen to me in a victim mentality, instead you will ask the question, what is the higher purpose of this?  If this were happening for a higher purpose what is it that I can learn from this?

If I know that the universe is always out to support me, I will look for the lesson and the gift in every circumstance.

Excerpt from Jack Canfield’s Interview for the film Beyond Belief

By Jack Canfield

Excerpt from Jack Canfield’s interview for the documentary film Beyond Belief

Well our thoughts are the exact thing that create our reality, and it happens like this; First we have a thought and that thought produces a vibration that creates a feeling which creates an even more intense frequency that goes out into the universe and down into our unconscious.  So on the internal level our thoughts are affecting our unconscious mind creating our beliefs.  They are programming a particular part of our brain called the reticular activating system.

For example right now you are not thinking of your right foot but as soon as I say right foot, that comes up into your awareness.  So your brain is constantly filtering out more than it’s taking in, and it’s our thoughts and our beliefs that affect that part of our brain that acts like a filter.  So if I believe it’s a dog eat dog world and I think that thought and I go to the airport I’m not going to see people being nice to each other, I’m going to see people being negative toward each other.

Also, if I think thoughts over and over and over, I begin to create images in the subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind will do anything it can to bring those images into reality, it will think of creative ideas.  It will notice things in the environment that will help achieve those intentions and those goals and those thoughts we think.

Our beliefs are very critical in terms of manifesting what we want in life. I define a belief as simply a thought you think over and over, and what we know about thoughts is every time we think a thought, it will actually aggregate more similar thoughts to it.  This is how belief systems form.  This is how someone becomes republican or democrat or conservative or liberal or Catholic or Jew, is you just think these thoughts over and over and they are reinforced and you attract more of those same kind of thoughts to you.

Now a belief is simply a set of thoughts that you think over and over and over, and what we know from law of attraction is when you have a thought, you attract other similar thoughts to it.  That’s why it’s important to focus on what you want.  Intend what you want, think about it, read about it, talk about it.  More people will be attracted to you to talk about that.  More articles, and newspaper articles and magazines and books will flow into your life and you’ll start noticing more things that support your point of view.

For instance, if someone grows up in a liberal family and they hear a liberal point of view or a conservative point of view or a democratic or republican or Christian or Muslim or whatever it might be, you’re constantly hearing thoughts related to that and attracting and spending time with people, so you begin to be focused into a belief system.

The problem with a belief system is that it could be true or not and a lot of times people ask, “well what should I believe?” Here’s the critical point.  Choose beliefs that support you in having what you want.  If you want to have money and you want to have it easily then start believing and choosing to believe that it’s easy to make money. Read books like Do What You Love the Money Will Follow, so that you begin to create a thought form and a belief system that allows you to have what you want.

Beliefs can support you in getting what you want, but they can also get in the way of getting what you want.

There are a lot of things that stop people from manifesting what they want in their life. The first thing is, most people are not clear about what they want.  They’ve never made a decision.  You know, I teach that you should make a list of 101 goals that you want to achieve before you die.

I have a friend John Goddard who made list at the age of 15, made a list of 127 goals that he wanted to achieve.  He’s now in his 70s and has achieved 115 of them. in his 70s he just finished polo lessons. This guy is the real Indiana Jones.  He’s lived a very intriguing life, gone up every river in the, world, climbed to the top of a pyramid, read the entire Britannica Encyclopedia cover to cover.  He started out very quickly, he said I don’t want to grow up like all my parents friends, sit around the table and say, God wish I had, wish I’d taken off time to go to Europe before college etc.  He said, “I want to be able to grow up and say I did it.”

So clarity is really important.  Get a set of goals.  Be real clear what you want.

The other thing is to trust what you’re attracted to.  Trust the images and desires and preferences that you have and be willing to pursue those.

If you don’t have clarity then what happens is you’re going to be pulled off by other people’s goals. I always say people without goals end up working for other people who have them. So you want to have a vision for your life, and then allow that vision and those goals to guide you, and you want to come back to those on a regular basis.  I review my goals at least everyday by looking at my vision board, my affirmations, my goal list, and I sit with my family at least quarterly to review what we’re doing. So you gotta have clarity.

Another thing that happens for people that gets in their way, is they have fear.  They’re afraid if they achieve a certain thing then something will happen, like if I have a lot of money then I won’t be able to trust my friends.  They are afraid of rejection.  I always teach people that rejection is a myth.  If I ask you to have dinner with me tonight and you say no, the world would say ooh, Jack got rejected.  What I say is that I didn’t have anyone to eat dinner with before I asked you. I don’t have anyone to eat dinner with now.  My life didn’t get worse.

And so the fear of rejection, the fear of loss, the fear of looking foolish, the fear of not knowing what you’re doing, all of those things will stop you from manifesting your vision and your goals.

Doubts. Doubts are really killer.  Here’s why.  Many of you have seen the Bose noise reduction headphones, I think Panasonic has them now.  There are many brands.  How do they work?  You put them on your ears, on an airplane, and babies are crying 5 rows away, but you stop hearing it.  The jet noise outside, you stop hearing it.   Why is that?

Well, the sound is coming in as a waveform, and then the Bose system hears that sound and creates an opposite waveform.  And these two waveforms collapse each other into a flat line.  So when you send an intention out into the world, remember it’s a frequency and a waveform.  Then what happens is when you have doubts it’s the opposite of that intention, it collapses it.  That frequency loses any energy to go out and to attract to you what it is you want.

It would be like calling up a pizza company and saying, “Hi I want an anchovy pizza with cheese and tomatoes and mushrooms and onions and whatever”, and then you call them back 5 minutes later and you go, “Hi are you working on my pizza, are you really going to deliver my pizza, are you sure?”

Well if you did that 5 or 6 times you’d be on their caller ID list and they’d stop taking your order. It kind of works the same way in the universe.  So you have to have a positive belief and trust, and faith it will happen.  Faith is basically belief based on things unseen. You just have to make a declaration. “ This is what I’m going to do.”

The other thing that stops people from achieving and manifesting their vision is that they don’t take action, an important part of belief.  See I teach you have to ask, believe that it’s possible, release it to the universe, and then have a vibrational match to receive that which you want.  So part of belief is taking action.

In other words if I was running a seminar and I said I can teach you to levitate and charged $2000 and we’ll do one tonight and you could show up, how many of you would really sign up?  Chances are you wouldn’t.  Why not?  Because you don’t believe that it’s possible to levitate.  And if you don’t believe its possible you won’t take the action necessary to do it.

So basically, action is a statement that I believe, because I wouldn’t expend energy if it wasn’t something I believed in.

So we have a lot of things that we want, but we’re not taking action.  And what I think is critical once you start applying the law of attraction, you start intending what you want and working toward it, what happens is you are going to start having impulses, spiritual intuitions, inner guidance that says you should do this thing.  You know it could be as simple as gee I ought to pull off the freeway and go to Starbucks here and get a cup of coffee.  For all you know, if you follow that intuition, you just avoided an accident up the freeway.  Or maybe you went around a traffic jam.  You have to trust that there’s something greater called spirit, god, source, infinite intelligence, the quantum field, that knows more than you do about how to get you what you want.

So once I make that commitment and I get an impulse to act I need to act on it.

Another thing that’s critical to manifesting that most people don’t do, is they don’t persevere.  There’s going to be rejection. There are going to be blockages.  There are going to be difficulties and mini-failures along the way.  When we did Chicken Soup for the Soul we went to New York to sell that book.  Rejected by all 22 publishers the two or three days we were there, we then went to the Book Expo America and were turned down by another 120 publishers.  Now if we had given up after 100 and said, well this was not supposed to happen, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here today because no one would know who I am.  But the reality is, we went 144 rejections before we got a yes. And so perseverance is critical

And now that book series has over 100, whoa, over 200 titles that we are up to and 115 million copies in print in 47 languages.  So perseverance is important

Getting Your Power Back

by Sandra Anne Taylor

The Truth about Attraction:  Sorting Out the Lies from the Laws—and Getting Your Power Back

Can you manifest your favorite author via the Law of Attraction?

Among the seven Laws of Attraction is The Law of Manifestation. This natural law of the Universe says that your consciousness creates your reality. This is projected in your self-view, worldview, and expectations, which send a holographic image of yourself and your life force out into the world. This holistic understanding is very powerful. Even a small shift in consciousness can create a dramatic change in results.

Success in practicing the Law of Manifestation in your own life isn’t just specific thoughts bringing about specific results. It’s a matter of projecting a life force that’s filled with positive images and conclusions of confidence, optimism, and self-love. Since your consciousness relies heavily on your view of yourself and your personal expectations, it will be very difficult to create success if you consistently engage in self-judgment and pessimism about your future. But you can intentionally lift your awareness to a more positive perception of yourself, your environment, and the day ahead. This will transform your consciousness and help shift the reality you create.

Your greatest power for change can be found in your awareness. Even if you can’t change the situation you’re in, you can still shift how you perceive it. It’s your interpretation of what’s around you—and not the circumstances themselves—that will ultimately determine the quality of your experience and the power of your life force.

I’ve seen the law of consciousness-created reality at work many times in my life. One particular story involves Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, who’s a wonderful author and inspiring motivational speaker.

About 20 years ago, I attended a conference where Wayne and a few other authors spoke. In his lecture, Wayne talked about a discussion that he and the other authors had over dinner the night before. I thought, Someday Id like to speak at a conference with Wayne and have dinner with him and the other authors. I even took a moment to visualize it, but not having any idea how it would happen, I let it go.

I didn’t think about it much after that, largely because my whole life force had become about something that was far more important to me—teaching genuine self-love and the principles of personal consciousness and energy. I was publishing my own book back then and even doing lectures for free. I was passionate about the information, and I really wanted to share it with others and help people make their lives better.

I did attend more of Wayne’s lectures, and when I did, I would remember that old intention. There were times when I could feel it happening and other times when it just didn’t resonate. It didn’t matter either way, however, because my entire life was now driven by a consciousness of purpose and enthusiasm.

My career hit many delays and roadblocks along the way, but I maintained an optimistic attitude, and I was so inspired by the process and the information that I was able to keep moving forward. About ten years after that original intention about Wayne had come to mind, my wonderful publisher, Hay House, picked up my first book. Shortly before that, Wayne had switched publishers and gone to Hay House, also.

In a few more years, I found myself speaking at the Hay House I Can Do It!® conference along with Wayne and many other fantastic people. At the authors’ dinner on one Saturday night, I told him about my old intention.

I said, “A long time ago, I visualized us speaking together and having dinner . . .” He jumped up, gave me a hug, and ended my sentence by saying, “ . . and here we are.” This is just one of the many fun experiences that have come my way. But it goes to show how your entire consciousness creates your reality. One fleeting intention—backed by a purpose-driven life force—can make something happen.

So formulate your own consciousness based on a positive self-perception and a purposeful and optimistic worldview. Gently let go of any pessimistic thoughts, and remember that you get to decide what you want to be true for you. Prioritize your whole life over any individual outcome; and fill your days with passion, enthusiasm, and self-love.

Listening to YOUR Intuition

By Brad Morris

Hello & Cowabunga Namaste;

Did you know that you have the most powerful intuition out of ANYBODY you know!?

Did you know that you have the ability to tell what is in the highest and greatest good for YOU in each & every moment?

Before participating in this article, lets just take a few breaths together so we can get into our bodies, get grounded onto Planet Earth and allow ourselves to be present and in our hearts. By being in our hearts weʼre able to decipher Truth & Falsity much easier.

Take a slow breath in through your mouth…….gently exhale through your mouth. Breathe in fully through your mouth……..gently exhale through your nose. Breathe deeply & fully through your nose…..slowly exhale through your nose. Take a deep breath in through your nose…………..gently exhale through your mouth.

Now that youʼre feeling more present, YES, it is TRUE that your intuition is more powerful than anyoneʼs you know! There is nobody on Planet Earth who can tell you what choices will serve you best and which ones wonʼt, better than you. That strong, silent, yet powerful voice inside of you is the TRUE voice that you want to be listening to. It is the voice of Destiny.

Have you ever had all of the closest people in your life telling you that ʻyou should do this and you should do thatʼ…. but never stopping to ask you what you are doing or what you plan to do???

I have found that with a consistent daily practice of yoga and sitting meditation (doesnʼt matter which kind) have helped me to become more powerfully attuned to MY OWN INTUITION. Before I learned to quiet my mind I would feel confused and chaotic inside because everyone around me was telling me what to do, how to do it, where to go, etc…I was never listening to My Inner Calling. Sound familiar?

ʻLife can be like the currents in the Ocean; throwing us around, left & right, smashing us up against painful rocks. That is until we find the power to ground ourselves like a rock and listen to that intuition. When we are grounded, centered and focused, it does not matter what the current around us is doing, because we are All Knowing & Confident.ʼ

I want to re-affirm to any of you self-doubters out there. Listen to yourself, to where inspiration leads you. If you practice tuning in to what your body is speaking, then youʼll know more often when to say ʻyesʼ and when to say ʻno.ʼ If you listen to what everyone thinks about you and if you let other peopleʼs judgments get the best of you, then youʼll remain in a stagnant, unfulfilling rut in your life.

To practice the power of your intuition, you have to practice LISTENING to it and FEELING what it is saying. So, here is a simple & FUN exercise for you to begin practicing today. . . . We are given many choices everyday, often multiple choices each moment. Your mission is to begin questioning the actions you commonly take without thinking about.

YOUR 24-Hour Intuition Challenge:

For the next 24-hours and beyond if you decide, your mission is to ask yourself before making choices this question, “Is this in my highest and greatest good?” OR “What is in my highest good right now?” You will know, based on your bodyʼs response if it is, or if it isnʼt. And the challenging part of this exercise, is saying NO when itʼs not in your highest good and YES when it is!!

When youʼve completed the 24-hours, share your experience, thoughts and opinions at my blog site, www.CowabungaLifestyles.wordpress.com

Good luck. And have fun communicating & listening to YOUR intuition!

Getting Clear on Your Passions

By Bob Doyle

Passion – and knowing what yours is – is a big topic of conversation these days.

Since the Law of Attraction has come to more of a forefront in the past few years, and people are learning  that they can create whatever kind of life they want, they are asking themselves, “Ok, what DO I want?”

The Law of Attraction truly works “automatically” in your favor when you are clear on your passions and are living them!

But what if you’re NOT clear?

What if you’re one of the many people I meet who feels completely disconnected from their sense of Passion?  What if when asked to describe your “ideal life” or “vision”, you don’t even know where to begin?

First, you need to know that this “disconnect” from your sense of passion  is simply another form of resistance.

Many times, we stop putting attention on our passions early in life when our more traditional system of education and upbringing tends to put a child down a path on which the child has no real input.

If what you have learned about your passions are that they are “okay for a hobby but not a way to make a real living” or something similar, then it is no wonder that you have disconnected yourself from your feelings of passion.  It would be too painful to live with a sense of yearning to do something you believe you cannot do, so you create a story that you “don’t know what your passions are.”

I’m not saying that you do this intentionally, because I don’t believe you do. It’s simply a kind of emotional defense mechanism. If you believe that you don’t know your passions, then you don’t have to take responsibility for not living them. “If only I knew my passions”, you might say, “I could put this Law of Attraction stuff to work in my life and things could change.” But in saying that, you affirm to yourself that you DON’T know your passions, and that story becomes more and more real to you until you truly believe that you don’t have anything in your life that you’re passionate about.

Instead of feeling “bad”, you have chosen to feel “numb.”

Clearly, there is no real power in feeling numb. You can’t attract anything with numb, except more numb. And too many people are going through life numb to their sense of passion,  robbing themselves and others of the gift that they are to the world.

This idea that you don’t know your passion, while it feels real right now, is an idea that you need to be willing to give up if you want to move into a fully satisfying life. We’re here to live our passions, so let’s not waste another minute not doing that!

Here are a few things to think about to help you tap into a lost sense of passion:

1. What do you daydream about? When your mind “goes off”, there’s a reason it goes where it goes. Many times our daydreams are our subconscious giving us a taste of what could be.

2. What would you do all day if you could do ANYTHING and money were not an issue for you at all? This is a very common question used to help people tap into their passions, because if you can truly generate the feeling of being freed up financially, you clear the way for yourself to think about what you’d TRULY like to do. But if you think about all this in terms of “will it make me money”, you are cheating yourself.

You must not judge your passions on your beliefs regarding their money-making potential. Walking The Path takes care of that as we’ll discuss more in Part 2, “The Journey.”

I’ll note that the answer to this question for many people is “Nothing! I would just do nothing all day.” And that is a totally fair answer, and I invite anyone with that response to do a lot of visualization around a day filled with doing nothing, and see how those visions naturally evolve. They’ll lead you to your passion…

3. What or who inspires you? If you can’t immediately access your own sense of Passion,  or put a label on it, I invite you to think about what or who in the world inspires you…and why.

You can learn a lot about yourself by looking at how you interpret people and situations. If someone inspires you because of what they’re up to in the world, could that tell you more than a little something about what YOU might want to be up to in the world?

If you’re inspired by some kind of creative expression like art, music, film, or theater, what exactly about the experience is inspiring you? Just because you’re inspired by art, for example, doesn’t mean that you have a destiny as an artist, however.

Things that inspire us aren’t always the thing we’re supposed to be or do. However, anything that evokes inspiration in us, opens a portal to the essence of who we are.

Next time you feel inspired by anything or anyone, it may be an interesting exercise to ask yourself why you’re inspired. What part of yourself is being activated in this moment? What action – however large or small – do you feel called to take?

There are entire courses available to help you discover your sense of passion, but I believe that these few questions – if honestly answered – will give you very deep insight into what you’re about.
